Learning you can take apart

LEGO® Education makes teaching material for schools and nurseries: sets of LEGO bricks that ship with task cards and lesson plans. The brand calls the idea "learning through experience" — connect, construct, contemplate, continue. Most of the building happens in a group, and whatever does not work gets taken apart and tried again.

The range runs from preschool into middle school. For the youngest there are DUPLO sets for sorting, storytelling and a first go at coding without a screen; above them sit the science, engineering and computing kits, where motors and sensors come into play. The classroom kits live in stackable sorting boxes with colour-coded trays — so that at the end of the lesson everything goes back where it belongs.

At the kitchen table too

You do not have to be a school to use them. The bricks fit every other LEGO brick in the house, and the task cards explain themselves. If you already own a kit, you will also find single motors, sensors and replacement packs here — with class sets that pass through many hands, that is the more frequent purchase.
