Tarmac Works: the racetrack, shelf-sized

Tarmac Works has been working out of Hong Kong since 2014. The brand says its mission is "to tell a story through our cars" — and that story is told in series: GLOBAL64 for motorsport, HOBBY64 for the Japanese tuning scene, Road64 for the street.

What the range is built on

Porsche is the best represented marque, much of it as RWB conversions. Behind it come Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Honda and Koenigsegg. Road cars form the entry point, racers and special editions the top end, with licensed collaborations such as Liberty Walk and VeilSide alongside.

How you spot a Tarmac

Liveries are researched from period photography and team documentation, with complete sponsor decals rather than hinted stripes. Add rubber tyres on period-correct wheels and a lowered stance — the details that separate a licensed replica from a toy casting.

Goes together

Same scale as Mini GT, Pop Race and Inno64. Anyone filling a cabinet mixes brands anyway — these models stand on the same shelf at the same height.
