Description HAWKER HURRICANE (No. 302 Sqn. RAF) Set - In honor of Polish heroes: From Duxford to Dęblin! To mark the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and the 100th anniversary of the Air Force Academy in Dęblin, a unique flight of a Hurricane replica will take place from Duxford (UK) to Dęblin in August 2025. The event is organized by the Polish Heritage Flight and the Polish Airmen Remembrance Committee. The aircraft bear the markings of the 302nd "City of Poznan" Squadron, which was stationed at the RAF base in Duxford in September 1940. The aircraft that will travel the Polish skies was built in 1942 at the Canadian Car Foundry and initially went to the 123rd Canadian Squadron. It survived the war and was so perfectly restored in 1985 that it made its next flight four years later. The sight and sound of the Hawker Hurricane over the Polish skies will be a sign of gratitude to the Poles who fought against England in the Second World War. Since September 1940, Polish pilots of the 302nd Squadron "Poznański" fought against the German Luftwaffe in aircraft such as the Hawker Hurricane. After the defeat in 1939, Polish pilots arrived in England via France to fight the German occupiers. Their heroism will be remembered forever!
