It's time to go back to the 1940s and create a model that changed the course of war. The Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IXe is not just a fighter - it is a legend of air battles, which can now be found in your collection as a realistic 1:32 scale model.
The plane that stopped the wave - the story of the Spitfire Mk. IXe
In response to the growing strength of the Luftwaffe and new German aircraft, the British aviation industry created an improved version of the legendary Spitfire. This is how the Mk. IX – armed with a Merlin 61 engine, prepared for high-altitude combat and able to confront the Bf 109G and Fw 190A.
The IXe variant is one of the final war versions – improved in design, better armed, with the ability to carry bombs. Used by many Allied squadrons until the last days of World War II, it remained a symbol of steadfastness and technical excellence.
A model from a museum in Malta!
This kit is more than just a model – it is a realistic model version of one of the most characteristic combat machines in history, designed with aviation enthusiasts, modelers and collectors in mind.
The Spitfire Mk.IX with serial number EN199, currently located at the Malta Aviation Museum, is painted in desert camouflage, which refers to its service with 81 Squadron in North Africa in 1943. The aircraft was flown by Wing Commander R. Berry, and his initials were used as the code letters on the aircraft. EN199 has a rich operational history, participating in operations in both North Africa and Malta.
After the end of the war, the aircraft was transferred to the Malta Air Scouts. It was on display outside from 1947 to 1974. Unfortunately, during this time it was damaged by vandalism, weathering and partial dismantling. What remained of the aircraft was recovered and stored. In the 1990s, it was transferred to a group of volunteers who, over a period of two and a half years, using both new and salvaged parts from all over Malta, completed its restoration in 1995.
What you will find in the box:
364 building blocks – perfectly matched blocks allow you to build a faithful replica of a Spitfire Mk. IXe, in desert camouflage with the original shape and paint scheme.
Scale 1:32 – optimal size of the model, which allows for precise reproduction of details, while being easy to display.
RAF pilot – pilot figure with interchangeable headgear: classic pilot cap and aviation forage cap. He will sit in the cockpit or stand proudly next to the plane – the choice is up to you!
Printed markings – no stickers! All details were made using a permanent printing method, which ensures longevity and aesthetics at the highest level.
Collector's stand – the plane can be placed on a special exhibition stand with a plastic pin and an elegant plate with the name of the set.
Movable parts – pilot's cabin, ailerons, wheels – everything moves or opens! Thanks to this, the model can not only stand, but also "take off", "land" and "fight".
Accessible instructions – clear steps make construction easy, even if this is your first historical model with blocks.
Part of a larger collection – the set combines perfectly with other vehicles from the Historical Collection WWII series – together they create a real museum in miniature or elements of a monumental battle diorama.
