It's perfect for both the space of a mature history enthusiast and the room of a child who isn't afraid of the challenge of hours of building. This model catches the eye, inspires conversation, and inspires admiration with its detail and scale.
R.M.S. Titanic – an unsinkable engineering icon
This kit allows you to recreate the Titanic at a 1:300 scale, with incredible precision and impressive dimensions – over 90 cm long and 27 cm high! Thanks to its realistic reproduction and a staggering 3,260 pieces, the model becomes not only a striking decoration but also a fascinating construction project.
The Titanic was built over two years – from March 30, 1909, to May 31, 1911 – by nearly 4,000 workers at the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast. The goal was to create the largest mobile vessel in the world. Two other ocean liners were also built alongside the Titanic: the Britannic and the Olympic.
The Titanic was seen as a symbol of technological progress and reliability, which contributed to the widespread belief that it was "unsinkable."
Titanic's Maiden Voyage
The Titanic set sail on its maiden voyage to New York from Southampton on April 10, 1912. It was commanded by the experienced Captain Edward Smith – it was to be his last voyage before retirement, a kind of "crowning point" for his career.
The ship was just one day from New York Harbor when, on April 14, 1912, at 11:40 PM, it collided with an iceberg. The impact tore a hole approximately 90 meters long in the hull – the beginning of one of the most famous maritime disasters in history.
Titanic Disaster – A Tragic Confluence of Circumstances
The large number of casualties resulted from a tragic confluence of circumstances – the collision with the iceberg, the lack of sufficient lifeboats, and the crew's inadequate preparation for evacuation. The Titanic disaster has remained etched in history as a symbol of human hubris, but also a warning to future generations.
