Product Description
Description The "Light Tank 7TP" set on a scale of 1:28 - the hero of September 1939 as a building block model from COBI! Ready for a unique journey through the history of armored vehicles? It's time to take your building block model collection to the next level! With the 7TP set from COBI, you can build a testament to courage, history and technical passion, as well as one of the rarest examples in the Polish Army Museum! 7TP - Poland's answer to the challenges of war The 7TP light tank was the Polish army's most valuable armored vehicle during the September 1939 campaign. It was an expression of the ambition of the young state, which created a modern design based on the British Vickers tank. The machine was equipped with a diesel engine, a rotating periscope and a Gundlach gun, which gave the crew a better field of vision. It was also equipped with a 37-mm Bofors Wz. 37 cannon and a 7.92-mm Wz. 30 machine gun. This allowed the 7TP to effectively fight both the German Panzer I and the more modern Panzer II. In terms of armor, the 7TP was only inferior to the newer German medium tanks: the PzKpfw III E and the PzKpfw IV B-C. However, it should be noted that these vehicles were significantly heavier (up to 20 tons) and made up only a small part of the German armoured forces in 1939. 7TP camouflage - Polish battlefield colors From 1936, 7TP tanks were painted in the standard camouflage of Polish military vehicles. This consisted of irregular, elongated patches in sand gray, dark brown and olive green. The patches were mostly horizontal and were sprayed on with gentle color gradients. Brave to the last bullet! Despite Poland's rapid defeat in September 1939, the 7TP was able to prove its fighting qualities. The excellent training of its crews played a key role in this. The 2nd Battalion's operations near Piotrków Trybunalski on September 4 and 5 were particularly noteworthy. In a battle with tanks of the German 1st and 4th Armored Divisions, the battalion destroyed at least a dozen enemy combat vehicles and other equipment. The only example in Poland - recreated with passion! To this day, no complete original 7TP tank has been preserved in Poland. The Polish Army Museum in Warsaw only displays fragments of the turret and chassis. In 2006, a group of members of the Polish Military Foundation in Bielsko-Biała interested in military history began reconstructing the 7TP using preserved plans and original parts. The full reconstruction was completed in 2011 and the tank was rebuilt in December 2017. The Polish Army Museum acquired it for just under PLN 2 million. This reconstructed machine served as a model for the COBI building block model! What makes the "Light Tank 7TP" set so unique: 1:28 scale - Provides a realistic appearance with a compact size - perfect for a shelf, diorama or display case. Museum exhibition - The set was created in cooperation with the Polish Army Museum in the Warsaw Citadel, where the reconstructed tank is currently located. 669 bricks - The set consists of precisely designed and manufactured elements. The bricks are durable, abrasion-resistant and provide a solid structure. Their excellent accuracy of fit guarantees a satisfying build - for beginners and experienced model builders alike. Figure of the most famous tank commander - The set includes a figure of the Polish General Stanisław Maczek with a replica coat and beret. The general himself did not drive the 7TP tank in September 1939, but with this figure we wanted to honor the most outstanding Polish tank commander, a role he held both in September 1939 and during the rest of the Second World War. The figure carries binoculars and a vis gun. High quality, durable prints - All markings and graphic details have been applied using a permanent printing process - no stickers required! The prints are abrasion-resistant and perfectly reproduce the details of the authentic vehicle. Movable elements and chain drive - The turret is fully rotatable and the cannon can be raised and lowered, allowing for a realistic representation of the tank in various combat positions. The functional chain drive allows the model to move smoothly on different surfaces. The engine can be removed and displayed next to the tank. Simple assembly - Thanks to the intuitive step-by-step instructions, building the model is a pure pleasure - for beginners and experienced builders alike. Collector's plaque - The model comes with a white plaque with the set name and scale, which significantly improves the presentation of the model on the shelf or in the display case. Toy and decoration in one - Once played with, this realistic model becomes a great room decoration and is guaranteed to catch the eye of any history buff. Large selection - Discover more vehicles from the HISTORICAL COLLECTION series and build your own collection of historical vehicles!
