Description
Experience the spirit of the flying aces of yesteryear and build a model of the Nieuport 17 C.1, the airplane of Georges Guynemer, one of the flying aces of the First World War!
Create a legend of the aviation history of the First World War! The Nieuport 17 C.1, described as "the best fighter plane of its time", was the plane of the legendary pilot Georges Guynemer.
In March 1916, the Nieuport 17 was sent to the front, ending the era of German Fokker dominance. Over time, this light, agile and fast aircraft became an icon of Allied aviation. Now it can go straight into your collection!
Nieuport's success story 17
In 1916, the French manufacturer Nieuport presented a new version of its fighter aircraft, the Nieuport 17 C.1, equipped with a 110 hp Le Rhône engine. The aircraft was larger, more powerful and faster than its predecessor, the Nieuport 11, while retaining its excellent maneuverability and rate of climb. It quickly became the standard fighter for Allied pilots.
In late 1916 and early 1917, the Nieuport 17 dominated the front lines. However, the rapid development of military technology quickly changed the situation. By mid-1917, the design had been overtaken by the more modern German Albatros D.III fighters, and in the Allied squadrons it was gradually replaced by new French biplanes such as the Spad S.VII.
The aircraft of the fighter ace!
The COBI model is based on the Nieuport 17, whose markings indicate that it was flown by Georges Guynemer, the second most successful French fighter pilot of the First World War with 53 confirmed kills, who was killed in September 1917.
Interestingly, a replica of this aircraft can be found in the Musée de Thiepval in France, where it serves as a memorial to Georges Guynemer.
Now you too can add this legendary airplane to your collection of kits. All you have to do is assemble it!
Why you should add the Nieuport 17 C.1 to your collection:
Authenticity down to the smallest detail - The model impresses with a precisely reproduced aircraft shape, a realistic paint job and a sesquiplane wing layout in which the underside is significantly smaller than the upper side. The model looks impressive and retains authentic proportions and details.
The flying ace's plane - The markings and numbers on the model correspond to those of the original plane flown by Georges Guynemer, one of the leading French fighter pilots of the First World War.
Pilot figure - This figure, modeled on the famous pilot Georges Guynemer, adds a special touch to your set. The figure wears a true-to-original French uniform and has two interchangeable headpieces: a cocked hat and a pilot's cap with goggles. Prepare the pilot for the flight and then place him in the plane to set off on a mission.
Collector's plaque - This sturdy, white plaque made of bricks with the name of the aircraft, the scale and the French flag is perfect for displaying the model in a collector's display case.
Fun, learning and passion combined - While building this model, you will learn about the history of aviation and the biographies of famous flying aces and improve your craftsmanship.
Intuitive instructions - Thanks to the simple and clear instructions, building the set is easy even for less experienced modelers. It is an excellent option for all ages who want to discover the secrets of historical model making.
Perfect for young and old - the set is ideal for younger model builders (aged 9+) and also looks beautiful when built. A must-have for any collector who wants a model from the First World War in their collection.
