The Volkswagen T3, unveiled in the spring of 1979 in Hanover, was the third incarnation of the famous "Bulli" and the last Transporter with the rear-mounted, air-cooled boxer engine, a feature familiar from the T1 and T2. The model saw numerous variations: the comfortable Caravelle, the family Multivan and the iconic Westfalia.
