Build a model of the Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer "Chwat" and learn its history, from a German tank destroyer to one of the icons of the Warsaw Uprising!
Build a model that tells one of the most extraordinary stories of the Warsaw Uprising. The Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer "Chwat" (English: Brave) is not only a German tank destroyer, but also a captured vehicle that briefly became a symbol of the ingenuity, determination and courage of the Polish insurgents.
This set takes you to the heart of fighting Warsaw and allows you to recreate a story that actually happened.
The insurgent "Chwat" complements the collection of COBI sets related to the Warsaw Uprising. Add it to the insurgent Panther "Pudel", the armored car "Kubuś", and the set of figures depicting Warsaw insurgents. Expand your collection and build historical dioramas from the Warsaw Uprising.
A symbol of captured weapons and hope
The Jagdpanzer 38(t) was a German tank destroyer based on the LT vz. 38 chassis, designed in 1943 and produced from April 1944. In modern literature, it is popularly called Hetzer ("Instigator"), although this was not the official name, nevertheless, it was very often used during World War II. It was characterized by its low profile, sloped armor, and simple and inexpensive design, making it an effective defensive weapon. Despite its technical limitations, it quickly gained a reputation as a formidable vehicle, used, among others, on the Eastern Front.
"Chwat" is a Hetzer captured on August 2, 1944, by the Warsaw insurgents during the fighting for the Main Post Office. The vehicle, belonging to the German 743rd Tank Destroyer Battalion, was damaged and initially incorporated into a barricade, and then repaired. Although it was not used in combat, it became a symbol of captured weapons and hope. After the war, it ended up in the Polish Army Museum, but in 1950 it was scrapped on the orders of the then communist authorities.
What you get in the JAGDPANZER 38(t) HETZER "CHWAT" brick set:
• A tank destroyer in a captured version – the set depicts a model of the Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer captured by the Warsaw insurgents. Movable tracks allow for realistic movement of the vehicle, and the mounted MG 34 machine gun emphasizes its combat character.
• 1:28 scale – the proportions of the model faithfully reproduce the shape and character of the Hetzer. The scale used allows for the use of a large number of structural details while maintaining full functionality. 1:28 is the most detailed scale for HISTORICAL COLLECTION WWII sets. In this scale, COBI releases the best and most refined sets for the most demanding customers.
• Double markings - the model has faithfully reproduced painting and double symbols to be placed on the armor: insurgent or German. You decide which version will be part of your collection or diorama.
• Detailed interior – not only the armor and markings, but also the interior of the tank has been reproduced with historical accuracy. A removable section of the armor allows you to look inside the vehicle and admire both the engine compartment and the meticulously reproduced crew compartment.
• Perfect for play and display – the vehicle looks great in a display case, on a collector's shelf, or as a central element of a diorama, and at the same time is suitable for dynamic play and recreating historical scenes.
• Figure of a Warsaw Uprising soldier – the set is complemented by a figure of a soldier of the Warsaw Uprising, designed with exceptional attention to historical details, insurgent symbolism, clothing and armament.
• Plaque with a reproduced insurgent poster – the set includes a plaque with a reproduction of the famous poster "To arms, in the ranks of the Home Army!", by Mieczysław Jurgielewicz and Edmund Burke. The poster was created in the first days of August 1944 and became one of the most recognizable symbols of the Warsaw Uprising. Reproductions of the poster can be used in the construction of dioramas and scenes referring to the insurgent battles.
• Highest quality workmanship – the model is made of high-quality elements, with durable, abrasion-resistant prints. The solid construction guarantees aesthetics and long-lasting use.
• Exclusive collector's plaque – an elegant plaque with the set name and scale perfectly complements the display in a display case or on a diorama base.
• Intuitive design – clear instructions guide you step-by-step through the entire assembly process, making construction a satisfying experience for both younger builders and adult history enthusiasts.
• For history enthusiasts – the set is designed for children over 10 years old and adult collectors. It combines educational, collectible and display qualities.
• Create your own history – this model belongs to the HISTORICAL COLLECTION WWII series, which you can expand and combine with other sets from this collection. Create dioramas, recreate real events or change the course of history, because in the world of building blocks, you are the commander.
The Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer "Chwat" is a building block history lesson, a story of courage, improvisation and fighting against all odds. Build it, put it on your shelf, and remember: even a captured machine can become a symbol of unwavering determination.
