History of the Audi RS 4 B9
The Audi RS 4 is the sportiest variant of the model A4, developed by Audi Sport GmbH. The RS designation ("RennSport" – racing sport) has long symbolized the brand's most powerful and technologically advanced models.
The B9-generation RS 4 Avant debuted at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The model featured a modern, aggressively styled body and a 450 hp, 600 Nm 2.9 TFSI V6 twin-turbo engine, paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive.
Compared to its predecessor, it offered improved performance, higher torque and greater efficiency. By combining sports-car performance with a practical Avant body style, it quickly became one of the world's most highly regarded sports wagons.
The story of the unique Audi RS 4 B9 POLIZEI
In 2020, the Audi RS 4 B9 POLIZEI—a unique show car based on the Audi RS 4 Avant—was created. The project was developed by ABT Sportsline in collaboration with VDAT, the German association of car tuners that promotes safe and regulation-compliant vehicle modifications.
The car was fitted with a tuning package that boosted its output to 530 hp and 690 Nm of torque. This enabled it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 280 km/h. Distinctive police markings, blue warning lights, a matte silver finish and an aggressive carbon-fiber aerodynamic package made the vehicle one of the most recognizable cars of the campaign.
Although it never saw active duty on German roads, the Audi RS 4 B9 POLIZEI has become a symbol of the blend of sports performance, professional tuning and safety.
